Please comment below if you will be bringing a guest to the event and remember to dress as appropriately as possible. Those arriving after the fifteen seats available have been accounted for will have to sit elsewhere in the George Watts & Son Teashop. Therefore, early or punctual attendance is essential for this Milwaukee Lolita Society meeting.

After the meeting at the teashop, the Milwaukee Lolita Society will visit Cathedral Square Park (think Jazz in the Park) for a "swap meet" and to take pictures. You are welcome to bring items, accessories, and clothing to trade and sell with other Milwaukee Lolita Society members. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact Gabriella Schwartz or Jeanette Helferich through Facebook.

Milwaukee Lolita Society - Lolitas at the Zoo!

Date: Saturday, June 12 - 11:00am-2:00pm
at the good ol' Milwaukee County Zoo!
10001 W. Bluemound Road
Milwaukee WI

(current approximate attendance: 12)

i recommend all attendees to park on side streets to avoid parking fees and meet outside of the walk-in entrance at 10:50am (we may be able to get in for free if the walk-in entrance is un-manned!!) also, i think it would be wonderful for everyone to purchase a ticket on the carousel and group together on horses for photos! that would be an absolutely spectacular sight!!

In case you have any special concerns or cannot make the event until later and need to call to find out where the group is at the time, you may call either Ella (414) 916-3552 or myself (414) 477-5515
♥ ♥ ♥ Can't wait to see everyone there! ♥ ♥ ♥

SGMS Fashion Show Deadline fast approaching [August 27th, 2007]

I posted the open call for designers, but I think the thread got lost in the board somewhere. We're coming up on the deadline, so if you live in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa or Wisconsin, this is for you :)

Open Call for Designers - Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits, Minneapolis, MN

Also, it looks like if you register before August 31 you get a $10 discount on entrance into SGMS. Do it if you can, it's worth the $10 savings. The thing is, because it's a conferance/workshop at a huge art college, it's a bit expensive. They fly in academics from around the world as well as amazing artists to teach you manga art. We had Udonone year! This year is Tania Del Rio (of Sabrina the Teenage Witch). She's very nice. The artist from our convention went to college with her, so they go way back. Also, Jeremy Rossfrom Tokyopop usually does a portfolio review and because the group is usually under $100 people, you can spend the whole weekend with the guests. Crispin Freeman is coming again this year and he's just about the biggest sweetheart ever. The lady who used to run the fashion show with me is a professor of fashion at University of Indiana. I always call her the Doctor of Fashion since she actually has a doctorate. Heh :) Anyway, there are usually good fashion talks as well as the fashion show on Friday.

*plug* Plus, you can prereg for Kakkoi|con :) *plug*

Well, I suppose that's enough. Email me if you are interested or have any questions about the show at all. I think I have enough models in the pool, so if you are a designer or hair and makeup artist, definately contact me. Thanks!

x-posted so everyone can have an opportunity to apply :)

Now that the weather is getting nicer, lets start planning for a spring meet up. I really would like to meet as many mid west lolitas as I can before moving back to NY in August.
Also, how many of you are attending naka-kon in Kansas City? I hear they are planning a tea party

Kansas City Meet-up #2 [December 3rd, 2006]

I would like to have a meet-up at The Plaza in KC sometime between now and Christmas. Same plan as before: a little shopping, horse and carriage rides, and dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I'm also thinking of renting a hotel room at http://www.chateauavalon.net/ . If anyone wants to split the cost and have a "slumber party" there, just let me know. So ladies, what day works for you?

I just found out that I will not be able to get a Friday or Saturday off till January.
Do you ladies know if the lights at the plaza are still on then , or are they taken down right after x mas?

Kansas City November 4th [October 19th, 2006]

Its official(I hope )! We are having our 1st K.C. meet-up on November 4th. I'm not sure of what time we will all meet up, but it will be at the country club plaza. I figure we can spend our day doing some shopping, then heading to one of their many eating establishments. After that, we can all go on carriage rides, then a movie. If you have any suggestions, I am open to hear it. Also, please let me know if you will be participating in the carriage ride, so I can make reservations for that. I believe they run somewheres around $20 a person, and can sit about 3 people.

Kansas City UPDATE [October 6th, 2006]

OK..so it seems the 28th didn't really work out for anyone, so I suggest we do something mid November.Anyone who is interested in attending, please suggest some dates that work well for you so I can start planning!
We can possibly go here http://www.strawberryhillmuseum.org/html/exhibits.html
it seems to be only a few miles outside of the Plaza area... then possibly horse and carriage rides followed by some shopping. I can also suggest going to the Legends plaza and having dinner at the T-Rex. Some of you might be traveling from Nebraska, so I would also suggest car pooling if possible to make things easier on everyone.
